Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has revealed manager Thomas Tuchel wants his defensive players to keep the ball.

The Dane says Tuchel believes in his defenders' ability to hold onto possession and play their way out of trouble.

He told Goal: "If you do not want to play the ball, then do not play the ball, wait for someone else to come and take it. You must not make hasty decisions at the last minute.

"He has told us that we must be comfortable with the things we do on the field and believe in ourselves.

"I have played in the middle of our three players in the defence, and I feel good there."
