Chelsea defender Christensen laments Bournemouth draw: We need to lengthen gap on Man Utd

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen admits they need to learn from their 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

The Dane says they must end their slow start to games.

Christensen said, "Our story of the game against Bournemouth is that in the beginning of the first half we started off slowly and exactly the same happened in the second half. In the first half Bournemouth didn't punish us but in the second half they did.

"As a defender, every time you concede is frustrating but the way we started both halves is what we have to look at and change it."

Two Marcos Alonso goals balanced out the Bournemouth strikes, but Christensen added: "We have had this opportunity for a long time to make this gap [between fourth and fifth] and somehow we haven't managed to actually do it so in that sense, it is good they [Man United] can't catch us now but for sure we would like to win and have a gap again.

"March is going to be very important. It is a big month for us and we know it and we have to go back again and perform well."
