Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is happy to act as a role-model for younger academy graduates.

The Dane has been connected to the Blues since he was 15 years of age.

Now 24, Christensen told Viaplay: "I am one of the few who has gone through the whole system and is still there. Now there are some who have come back from loan deals and we are a bit more now, but I am the first of us who tried it and it gives some hope to the young players.

"That's the effect I have in the club right now.

"When some young people come up and train, the coaches want us other young people to help them with things, so of course we try that.

"There weren't that many before me who had tried it, and the fact that there are so many now, the fans appreciate and they shout for more of it - so I enjoy it, and I think so, the other boys do too."
