Chelsea defender Cahill wanted title 'badly' after last season's disappointment

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has admitted he wanted to win the Premier League title 'badly' after a disappointing campaign last season.

The England international has become Chelsea captain under Conte this season and he hopes he can guide his side to victory over West Brom on Friday night. A win at the Hawthorns will see the Blues crowned champions.

Speaking before the match, Cahill said: "It's a motivation we have had - tasting disappointment last year and not wanting to be anywhere near that again," he says. "I wanted it so badly this year, along with everybody else.

"It's been largely the same group of players and we have had a real determination about what we wanted to achieve this season and getting back to the levels we want to be at.
