Chelsea are watching Barcelona wing-back Alejandro Balde's situation.

Barça has been trying to finalise his renewal, through to 2027, for months and have hopes to be able to announce it soon.

However, there is also discussion inside the club that Balde could be cashed in to ease their financial issues with LaLiga.

Sport says Balde's agent Jorge Mendes favours him signing a new deal, but has also informed Barca he would have no problem finding him a new club.

And Chelsea are already in contact with Mendes for the wing-back.

It's suggested both Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella have failed to convince at left-back, which has led to Chelsea contacting Mendes about Balde.
