Chelsea have confirmed Ruben Loftus-Cheek will have surgery on his ruptured Achilles tendon on Friday.
The England international saw a specialist on Thursday to assess his Achilles tendon.
He suffered the injury in Wednesday's friendly with New England Revolution.
Loftus-Cheek is expected to miss the Europa League final against Arsenal on May 29.
