Chelsea are in the final stretch of signing Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling.

The Independent says negotiations over a £45m fee are approaching a conclusion as Sterling's transfer to Stamford Bridge edges closer.

Chelsea management believe the deal will be wrapped up in time for the 27-year-old to join their pre-season tour in the US next week.

Sterling is said to be satisfied with the personal terms offered to him, and 'excited' about the opportunity to move back to London, where he lived from the age of five until he joined Liverpool in 2010 ten years later.

The £45m deal for the 77-cap international is thought to include up to £10m in further potential add-ons.
