Chelsea chiefs plan one big-name striker signing

Chelsea chiefs have plans to making a headline grabbing summer signing.

The Blues' plans have been affected by the coronavirus crisis but Stamford Bridge chiefs hope to land a marquee player.

The Athletic report a new striker remains a priority, despite Olivier Giroud signing a one-year contract extension, but the coronavirus crisis is set to wreak financial havoc on the footballing world so the next transfer window will be impacted as a result.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard only has three strikers in his squad - Tammy Abraham has established himself as the first choice while Giroud and Michy Batshuayi provide backup.

Chelsea have enough room their budget for a blockbuster deal but will supplement the rest of the activity with swap deals and alternative options.
