Chelsea challenge kids - with assurances of long-term future

Chelsea are ready to assure their young players they'll be backed long-term if they prove themselves next season.

The club's top youngsters will be relied on more than ever before during the forthcoming season due to the impending two-window transfer ban.

The Daily Mail says the first wave of the club's academy players will report for pre-season training from Monday - and staff will make it clear that this season represents their best opportunity to carve themselves a senior career at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have asserted their commitment to young talent this week by rejecting a £22.5million offer from Bayern Munich for Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi is in the final year of his contract and currently recovering from an achilles injury.
