Chelsea captain Gary Cahill was left stunned to be omitted for their Europa League win at Malmo on Thursday.
The Telegraph says the club captain was snubbed by Sarri without any prior warning or explanation.
Cahill is stunned at the treatment and one former team-mate said the defender is being made to feel like a 'ghost'.
He has barely had any interactions with Sarri and is out in the cold despite leading the Blues to FA Cup glory under Antonio Conte last season.
Chelsea weighed up offers for the 33-year-old in January but the window closed without a suitable deal on the table.
It now seems the final six months of Cahill's contract will wind down to a bitter end at Stamford Bridge.
