Chelsea boss Tuchel says positive impact 'all thanks to the players'

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insists his positive impact since his appointment is thanks to the players.

Tuchel, who replaced Frank Lampard in January, guided the Blues to a highly impressive away win at Liverpool on Thursday night to move Chelsea into the top four of the Premier League ahead of another key fixture against Everton on Monday evening.

"I'm very flattered to have such compliments come my way but all the plaudits and all the flowers should go to the players and to the club," Tuchel explained.

"Chelsea, as an organisation, has everything you need to be successful as a club. The setup is there and now it is my job as head coach of this football team to bring out the very best of both myself and the players.

"There is no other way to express myself than with strong team performances and I'm so happy to be on the sidelines here. I'm very happy with the unbelievable attitude my players have shown both towards training and games. I feel the bond that is shown from each player is at the exact necessary level needed to be successful.

"In world football, the teams that stand out as successful are those who fight for one another. Those teams that sacrifice for one another, that push one another both on the pitch and from the bench and this is exactly what I have found since I arrived at Chelsea.

"There is so much talent at this club and it's a pleasure to work with this group every day and compete against other top managers and teams. We are enjoying this moment and working hard to maintain these levels."
