Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed why Ruben Loftus-Cheek was substituted just thirteen minutes after coming on against Liverpool in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Loftus-Cheek was introduced for Christian Pulisic at the start of extra-time, only to be replaced shortly after by Ross Barkley.
Tuchel cleared up why he made the decision when speaking in his post-match press conference.
The German denied Loftus-Cheek suffered an injury, stating instead that the substitution was because of his "bad history" with penalties.
Barkley scored his spot-kick but the Blues eventually lost 6-5 at Wembley.
Chelsea have now become the first-team ever to lose three consecutive finals.
