Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel admits he's been training to sign Kalidou Koulibaly for several years.

The former Napoli defender joined Chelsea last month.

Tuchel said, "We have followed him for many years, my staff and I have tried many times but it is very difficult to get players from Napoli. He was a leader. We had information from Edou and Jorginho.

"We always had the same feedback: he is a leader and a fantastic model for his teammates. You can see his quality in defence, the body position, timing in defence.

"He can use both feet, he is confident, mobile and very experienced. We saw the possibility and we went for it. I'm very happy."
