Chelsea boss Tuchel eager to meet with Blues legend Terry: Everybody loves a John Terry in their team

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to meet with Aston Villa assistant manager John Terry before tomorrow's clash.

Sunday's game will be the first chance the Blues head coach has to speak with Chelsea's former captain Terry.

"The same as for Frank Lampard," Tuchel responded when asked. "I cannot have bigger respect for these two guys. With Petr Cech and Didier Drogba, they are guys that come instantly to my mind when I think about and thought about Chelsea Football Club. That is absolutely clear.

"We have not had a chance to meet in person. I think when we were training in Portugal when we were preparing for the Champions League last-eight, he tried to visit our training," Tuchel recalls, remembering back to a previous club and season. "That did not happen but I was very happy to have the possibility to see him and to talk to them.

"So it's the first time tomorrow. I'm not so sure if this is the right occasion to have a nice and relaxed talk. Before the match, maybe not. And after the match, that depends on his mood or my mood. Let's see.

"But they are the guys people talk about here and the guys who build a certain image for Chelsea and who created a certain type of image that represents this club. I have nothing but respect for John Terry.

"Everybody loves a John Terry in their team, everybody loves a Frank Lampard. This is a no-brainer. These are the type of guys who make the difference for sure."
