Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri hasn't dropped his plans to bring an Italian defender to London.
Calciomercato.com says Sarri is looking at Milan's Mattia Caldara and Alessio Romagnoli as alternative options to David Luiz and Gary Cahill.
It's been suggested Gary Cahill are in Sarri's long term plans at Chelsea despite the Blues only having conceded three goals in the opening games of the Premier League season.
But deals might be difficult as Romagnoli has only just signed a new contract and Caldara only arrived this summer, meaning that AC Milan are unlikely to be willing to accept offers for them.
