Chelsea boss Lampard: Winning at Spurs was special

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard admits victory at Jose Mourinho's Tottenham was a personal triumph this past season.

On a number of levels, the 2-0 win at White Hart Lane on December 22 was all his Christmases come at once.

“I'll admit the fact that when we were sitting in the staff room afterwards there was patting on the back," he recalled.

“We had looked at Tottenham, we had come up with a plan, and when you work through the week and see how the players put out that plan on the pitch and perform, it was one of the proudest moments of the season.

“We felt that a change of system would really give us a lot of comfort on the ball and a lot of security that we could control the game.

“On top of that, I wanted the players to play with the feeling of a Chelsea fan travelling across London to watch that game.

“They did play like that and they celebrated like that at the end so I was celebrating like that too."
