Chelsea boss Lampard: Much more to come from Mendy; Pulisic injury?

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is delighted with the way Edouard Mendy has kicked off his Premier League career.

And he insists there's more to come from the former Rennes goalkeeper.

Lampard said: "It's about the collective, but he has made a very good start to his career with us. He has shown his qualities and brought confidence to those around him.

"When we were in to sign him, Petr Cech was heavily involved. All the feedback, was that he had a great personality in the dressing room, and everything I heard has come true.

"He is very low maintenance, he works hard and he is eager to engage with his teammates. He has smile on his face and it's a real positive when a player hits the ground running on the pitch, but is a pleasure in the dressing room too. I'm sure there is more to come and I think he can go much further."

Lampard also confirmed that Christian Pulisic has a very minor injury on his hamstring, which is a "relief", despite not being available to face Champions League opponents Rennes.

"He had a scan yesterday which showed a very minor injury to his hamstring and he's already back outside," said Lampard.

"He won't be fit tomorrow but we'll see after that."
