The 22-year-old has made 33 appearances for club and country since the start of September and only three of them were from the bench.
Lampard said: “He's crucial to the team.
“There's always a fine balance in this job as to when you can find rest for players who are crucial to the team.
“At the moment, he's a player in the team playing with confidence and work ethic — the stuff that Mason churns out pretty much all the time for Chelsea.
“But now he is getting real recognition for it and he's growing.
“He trains, he rests, he does everything professionally right.
“So if anyone can handle games and minutes, it's Mason."
