Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insists he's not blaming Tammy Abraham for defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.
Lampard hooked Abraham late on after the England rookie's failure to add to his 16 goal haul but refused to use his inexperience as an excuse.
“It doesn't matter what his age is," said the Chelsea boss.
“Harry Kane has afternoons like that so does Mbappe, so does Lionel Messi.
“One thing I would expect is desire and he always gives that to be fair.
“I think it was just a difficult afternoon.
“Newcastle absolutely got numbers in their box and defend so to expect loads of space is not right.
“To hope he gives everything to get that space is what he did. It just didn't quite come off."
