Chelsea boss Lampard: Hudson-Odoi not far away from return

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed that youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is close to returning.

The English winger has been out of action since suffering an Achilles injury.

However, new boss Lampard believes that Hudson-Odoi will step up his recovery in the next few weeks.

While he is not going to imminently return to the matchday squads, he should be able to take part in full training.

"He's not training with us yet but the injury is coming on ahead of schedule," said Lampard to the club's official website.

"There will be a period for Callum where his injury is fine but then he needs to get fit to play in the team because it's going to be very demanding with the way I want to play from front to back.

"He's not far away and I know he's done everything throughout the summer with our medical team to get back quickly."
