Chelsea boss Frank Lampard: Sevilla clash no dead rubber

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard insists their Champions League clash is no "dead rubber".

Chelsea have already qualified for the round of 16.

But Lampard says: “It certainly isn't a dead rubber. We want to win the group for different reasons.

"Generally winning the group is the beneficial pathway though that isn't clear all the time.

“In terms of motivation, players who haven't had many minutes have to show why they should be in the starting 11.

"I have difficult choices and it is an opportunity for players to give me more difficult choices going forward. We are on a good run. We haven't lost since Liverpool which was a difficult game for us because of circumstances that happened in the game.

"My feelings in football are, if you are going well and try and flick the switch off and then flick it back on again, it doesn't work that way."
