Chelsea boss Antonio Conte goes for free agent Martin Caceres

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is eyeing free agent Martin Caceres.

The London Evening Standard says Caceres is currently without a club after being released by Juventus at the end of last season.

Conte worked with Caceres in Turin and it is suggested he is pondering an approach for him, if the defender can prove his fitness.

Caceres, who is also being linked strongly with Inter Milan and Roma, was a reliable deputy to the backline of Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini during his time at Juventus.

He struggled with injuries at the Italian champions, suffering Achilles damage in a game last February which proved to be his last for the club.
