Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti doesn't see Joe Cole as a wide player.
Cole is edging closer to a first Premiership start for Chelsea and Ancelotti told his club's website: "The best position for Cole is to play behind the striker, in offensive midfield.
"He has the quality to play there because he is very good in dribbling and very good in passing. That is the best position.
"He can also play right or left midfield because he is a dynamic player. Joe Cole is very close to the quality of Deco and he can put quality in the play of this team."
