Chelsea have been given some positive news on the transfer front, with St-Etienne ready to accept a fee for Lucas Gourna-Douath.

The 17-year-old is being linked with a move to the Premier League club.

According to FootMercato, the COVID-19 financial situation in Ligue 1 means that St-Etienne would accept £22 million for the player.

Gourna-Douath is a highly rated midfielder who has shone to prominence this season.

He has played 23 Ligue 1 games, with nine of those being starts.

With N'Golo Kante edging closer to 30, Gourna-Douath could be viewed as a long-term replacement for the World Cup winner.
