Chelsea have burned off competition from PSG to secure the commitment of Tariq Lamptey.

The young fullback was wanted by PSG chief Leonardo this month, says Foot Mercato, and talks with his agents had been held.

Indeed, PSG tabled a contract offer for Lamptey's consideration.

However, Chelsea were quick to act and made a proposal of their own - which was greater than what Leonardo was prepared to sanction.

Lamptey is now set to sign a new four-year contract with Chelsea in the coming days.
