Chelsea attacker Broja on Vitesse move: I want to follow Mount, Solanke success

Chelsea attacker Armando Broja is delighted with his loan move to Vitesse Arnhem.

Broja has moved to Vitesse for the season.

The attacker will be joining Vitesse aiming to nail down a first full season as a senior player with the Eredivisie outfit. Broja, just 18, was born and raised in London, but has been capped by Albania at U21 level. Broja has a contract to 2022.

The youngster made his first team debut last season for Chelsea in a 4–0 home win against Everton after coming on as a late substitute.

And Broja admits the previous success of Blues teammate Mason Mount with Vitesse, along with two former Chelsea starlets helped sway his decision.

He told the club's website: “I know examples from Mason Mount, but also from Lewis Baker and Dominic Solanke. For myself I see Vitesse as the ideal club to make my launch. I want to grow as a player and as a person. And above all: score a lot of goals. I will give everything for that."

For their part, Vitesse management are delighted with Broja's arrival. The Dutch club's scouting and technical team are convinced Broja can make a big impact in Holland for the new season.

Vitesse technical director Johannes Spors also said: “It is clear that Armando is a very welcome reinforcement. Armando is tall, strong and has proven to easily find the target in recent years.

"In addition, he brings just a few other qualities, making him an addition to our squad. With the arrival of Armando, as the fourth acquisition, our squad is increasingly taking the desired form."
