Defender Branislav Ivanovic has stated that Chelsea tend to perform well when the chips are down.

Chelsea claimed a crucial 1-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and it was a very professional performance from the Blues which saw them claim the three points against their rivals.

Following the triumph, Ivanovic admitted that Chelsea were fearful of losing against Arsenal before the game but stated that such a fear drove them on to claim the victory.

The Serbian international said: "We are trying to be motivated for every game but this season we've played better when we're afraid and when we scared to lose the game.

"With this pressure we are playing better games.

"Every time we are relaxed and think we are going to win easily we have problems. Today was great but I hope this is just a small step to changing our season."
