Chelsea are set to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from Rennes on Sunday after a deal was finally thrashed out yesterday.
The Blues will pay around £22million for the 28-year-old Senegal international after an opening offer of £14m was rejected a month ago.
Frank Lampard grew frustrated with Kepa Arrizabalaga last season and Mendy is being brought in to compete for the No.1 spot with the Spaniard.
Meanwhile, Chelsea's Italian right-back Davide Zappacosta has joined Genoa on a season-long loan after spending last season on loan in his homeland with Roma.
