Lee Charnley is set to step up at Newcastle United following Joe Kinnear's departure as football director.
The Daily Mail says at the moment there are no plans to find a replacement for Kinnear who signed a three-year £60,000-a-month contract as director of football in July but has failed to bring in a single permanent signing since.
Charnley and long-serving football operations director Tony Toward will take care of the day-to-day running of the club - a task they effectively did without the influence of Kinnear, who spent very little time in the North East.
