Charlton defender Chris Solly has been approached by Team GB boss Stuart Pearce over availability for this summer's Olympic Games. "I was absolutely shocked when I received the letter," the 21 year old told the club's official website.

"I'm delighted to be on the long list, and if I was to make it I would be over the moon. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me.

"I've no idea how long the list is but just to be recognised in that group is a pleasure and a privilege."
