Charlton boss in one last push to strengthen Addicks squad

Charlton boss Phil Parkinson remains desperate to add to his squad before the transfer window shuts. The Addicks have made an unbeaten start to the League One season but Parkinson claims he is still short of the numbers required for a sustained promotion push.

"We need more players, we're nowhere near at the moment in terms of options from the bench to change a game, and I think that's going to be important," he said.

"We need a couple more, and I wouldn't say they'll all be loans.

"Finances are tight, very tight, but the chairman and I are working very hard towards getting the maximum amount of money we've got left in the budget to improve our options."
