Charlie Savage and Shola Shoretire in Man Utd squad for Crystal Palace trip

Charlie Savage and Shola Shoretire are in today's Manchester United matchday squad for their final round clash at Crystal Palace.

Savage, 19, made his debut as a late substitute in Ralf Rangnick's second match in charge against Young Boys in the Champions League group stage in December.

Shoretire, 18, debuted for United last season against Newcastle and has appeared four times for the first-team as a substitute. Nineteen-year-old left-back Alvaro Fernandez, an unused substitute in the last three games, is in contention to make his debut.

"We once again, unfortunately, have quite a few players missing and another couple of players with question marks, so we have to wait for tomorrow's last training session," Rangnick said.

"As it stands now, there will be quite a few players missing, but I am still positive there will be a strong starting line-up and finish the season on a higher note than we did at Brighton.

"There are a few players missing but I don't want to name all those names right now. A few are still question marks, Luke Shaw's wife gave birth to their second baby today and he was supposed to be back for training tomorrow but apparently he isn't, so we will have to see if he is at least able to go on the bench on Sunday.

"In today's training, we had one or two players leaving the session a little early because they couldn't finish the session, because they had problems, that was Jadon [Sancho] and Phil Jones, so we need to wait until after the session tomorrow.

"Unfortunately, Alejandro was ill in the last couple of days. He was training with us until midweek last week but then he had to drop out because he was ill and I think today was the first training session he was back again. He might be in the squad but I am not sure if he is physically, after this illness, capable and fit enough to play.

"I'm positive the players want to get things right and show and prove to everybody they are capable of playing a lot better than we did at Brighton.

"I am also positive they would rather play in the Europa League rather than the Conference League. They will have to play Thursday evening rather than Tuesday and Wednesday, but I think it is still a big difference if a club like Manchester United plays in the Europa League rather than the Conference League.

"You could see the day before yesterday a club like Eintracht Frankfurt, who finished in the lower half of the Bundesliga, won the Europa League and qualified for the Champions League I think for the first time in the history since the Champions League [started] and this should also be an incentive for everybody to make sure we qualify for the Europa League at least on Sunday."

Jones has been declared fit and has travelled, despite withdrawing from yesterday's session.

Confirmed United squad members:

Heaton, Henderson, Dalot, Jones, Varane, Lindelof, Fernandez, Telles, McTominay, Fred, Shoretire, Savage
