Chapi Ferrer named new Real Mallorca coach

Former Chelsea and Barcelona fullback Albert Ferrer has been named new coach of Real Mallorca.

Chapi Ferrer was confirmed today as new coach of second division side, RCD Mallorca and takes over from Miquel "Nanu" Soler.

He will form a key part in the 2015-16 season as the club celebrates their centenary year with a push to return to the top flight of Spanish football.

Ferrer (born in Barcelona in 1970) took Córdoba back to La Liga for the first time in over 40 years as well as playing for Barcelona and Chelsea as his time as a player.
