Chaparro to takeover at Betis after Cuper axe

Paco Chaparro is set to take charge of the Real Betis first team after Hector Cuper's dismissal last night.

The Betis board chose to act immediately after their 2-0 defeat at home to Atletico Madrid. After a two-and-a-half hour meeting at the stadium, it was agreed that Cuper had to be dismissed.

Chaparro, who has been in charge of Betis B this season, will take training this morning. He is expected to be confirmed as head coach to the end of this season.
