CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WRAP: Ronaldo hits hat-trick, Arsenal win again as Dortmund hold Man City

Match Day 2 of the 2012/13 UEFA Champions League campaign is now complete with another bunch of interesting results.

We kick it off with Cristiano Ronaldo's brilliant hat-trick for Real Madrid who took a while to kick into gear before hammering Ajax 4-1 in Amsterdam with Karim Benzema also on the scoresheet with a stunning overhead goal.

The win allowed the Spanish champions to go top of Group D, two points clear of German title-holders Borussia Dortmund, who were denied a big win at Manchester City as Mario Balotelli's last-gasp penalty cancelled out Marco Reus' opener.

City sit third in the group with just one point from two outings whilst Ajax are currently making up the numbers with two defeats.

In Group B, Arsenal made it two wins from two outings with a 3-1 result at home over Olympiakos thanks to goals from Gervinho, Lukas Podolski and Aaron Ramsey to sit at the summit with a two-point lead over Schalke who conceded late against Montpellier who forced a 2-2 draw despite playing with ten men for almost the entire second half.

Group C saw AC Milan skip away to a two-goal lead at Zenit St Petersburg before the Russians pegged them back but a 75th minute own-goal allowed the Rossoneri to grab maximum points as Malaga cruised past Anderlecht 3-0 courtesy of an Eliseu double.

And in Group A, FC Porto caused an upset of sorts by downing Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in Portugal whilst Dynamo Kiev scored twice in the first half to record a 2-0 home victory over Dinamo Zagreb.
