Champions League fixtures to be fulfilled at one stadium

The winner of this season's Uefa Champions League, could be decided by a 'Final Eight' tournament format in Portugal, according to Mundo Deportivo, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The Spanish newspaper reports that European body Uefa is drawing up a plan that would see second legs scrapped for the quarter-finals and semi-finals, allowing for the Champions League to be completed at one stadium by 22nd August.

Mundo Deportivo said that Lisbon's Estadio da Luz is Uefa's preferred option to host the tournament because there are no Portuguese sides left in the competition, although Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano and Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena are reportedly also in the frame.

The last Champions League fixtures took place on 11th March and it is still unclear how the four outstanding last-16 ties will be completed.

Mundo Deportivo added that Uefa is still considering how to decide the winner of this season's Europa League, with a final decision on its two club competitions expected on 17th June.
