CFG chief Patsy: Fernandez should be Man City player

City Football Group director Joan Patsy has spoken about Manchester City's pursuit of Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

The Benfica youngster has shown his qualities to the world as Argentina lifted the World Cup trophy on Sunday.

Fernandez is now being linked with clubs around Europe, with the 21-year-old becoming a key member of Lionel Scaloni's Albiceleste in Qatar.

Speaking to Spanish publication Què T'hi Jugues, Patsy said: "Man City could've signed Enzo Fernandez, but what do we do if we have Gundogan, Bernardo and Rodri in the squad?

"He would've cost us less than he did Benfica, but we didn't have a place and we knew he wouldn't play."

Fernandez is being strongly linked with a move to Liverpool thai winter.
