Cesare Casadei sent off in losing Chelsea debut

Cesare Casadei was sent off on his Chelsea debut in last night's EFL Trophy first-round defeat to League Two Sutton United.

The Italian midfielder signed for Chelsea last month from Inter Milan.

Casadei wasn't the only new youngster making his debut, with former Arsenal ace Omari Hutchinson also featuring.

Casadei was shown a second yellow card in the 85th minute after grabbing the ball while falling over to prevent a counter-attack.

He now becomes the latest Blue to be sent off after Kalidou Koulibaly and Conor Gallagher received their marching orders in two of Chelsea's last three Premier League games.

The only good news for Casadei is that his red card will not prevent him from playing in the senior squad's next game as suspensions can only be served in the Papa John's Trophy.
