Central Coast Mariners stay with existing stadium

Central Coast Mariners are to continue playing their home games at Central Coast Stadium after agreeing a new lease deal with local authorities, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The team will remain in the 20,000-seater venue for at least the next three Hyundai A-League seasons, taking their tenancy up until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Mariners executive vice chairman Peter Storrie and Gosford City Council chief executive Paul Anderson confirmed the new deal last week.

"It goes without saying that a strong relationship with Gosford City Council is of high importance when it comes to ensuring the financial sustainability of the Central Coast Mariners and today's announcement is a huge step in the right direction," said Storrie.

"Immediately we are faced with a 13 home game season at Central Coast Stadium but this stadium agreement sets up an exciting prospect for our fans and members for the next three seasons at least."
