Celtic signing Fox happy to prove wrong Everton boss Moyes

New Celtic signing Daniel Fox says being dumped by Everton was the best thing that could have happened to him.

The former Coventry defender said: "Getting released by Everton was the kick up the backside I needed.

"I signed for Stranraer and Neil Watt said to me on day one to prove Davie Moyes wrong.

"Well, I'm getting there on that one. This is a great chance. I'm at one of the biggest clubs in the world and intend to make the most of it.

"I had a good grounding at Everton, from the former assistant manager Alan Irvine to players such as Duncan Ferguson and Alan Stubbs.

"Both were great professionals and always had time for young players. It was a privilege to be at Everton with them."
