Celtic are seeking to re-sign Fraser Forster from Southampton.

Forster played 28 league games for Celtic during a loan spell from Saints in the 2019-20 season, following a 2012-14 term where he made his name at the Scottish giants.

The Scottish Sun are reporting that the Hoops have opened talks with Saints about another loan return, but they will have to pay more than they did last time to land him.

The report details how Saints want around half of his £130,000 salary, despite only paying a fraction last time out – Celtic think a third is more reasonable.

Owner Dermot Desmond is reportedly open to spending top dollar on players he likes, and knowing full well that a Forster return would be a hit with the Celtic faithful could swing his decision.
