Celtic's Brown competing with Man Utd's Fletcher for Scotland captaincy

Celtic captain Scott Brown admits he is unsure if he will remain as Scotland skipper for next week's international friendly with Poland.

The Hoops midfielder has had the national team's captain's armband in recent times but could step aside now that Manchester United's Darren Fletcher is back in the setup.

Fletcher, who has not played for his country for about two years, was selected by Gordon Strachan for the March 5 trip to Warsaw and could quite possibly step into the captaincy role currently held by the unassuming Brown.

"I'm glad to see Darren back. He's a class player at Man United and when fit was playing week in, week out under Sir Alex Ferguson," he told the Daily Record.

"That shows what a quality performer he is. He's up there with some of the best I've ever played with.

"I'm not too sure what will happen with the captaincy. I'm sure the gaffer will let us know."
