Celtic's Ambrose open to future Premier League move

Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has revealed that he would love to one day play in the English Premier League.

The 25-year old Nigeria international has been with the Hoops since arriving from Israeli side FC Ashdod in the summer of 2012 but is thinking about the possibility of one day heading to England.

Ambrose attracted interest from Fulham last month while West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace have also been credited with some curiosity, prompting the centre-back to state his desire at playing in England's top flight.

"The English Premier League is a well-celebrated and followed league back home in Africa," Ambrose said.

"It has attracted a lot of big players, and I wouldn't mind playing there at some point.

"But I am happy at Celtic who are one of the best clubs in the world.

"There was no contact from Fulham or any EPL side in this winter transfer window that I know of.

"But when a player is being linked strongly to such a league, it shows that I am being watched and appreciated. I give God all the glory."
