Celtic are moving to keep Scott Brown away from Newcastle United.

The Scottish Sun says Brown has emerged as a £6million target for Toon boss Alan Pardew.

But Hoops power brokers want to tie him to a new long-term deal and have already opened talks with the Scotland star, who has a year left on his contract.

It's understood that Brown WILL turn his back on the cash-rich Premiership by pledging his future to Celts.
