Celtic are reportedly preparing a last-minute swoop for Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher and Dinamo Zagreb defender Jozo Simunovic.

The Daily Mail is reporting the Hoops are hopeful of landing Fletcher on a season-long loan deal, while they have presented a £3.2million bid to Zagreb for the services of Simunovic.

It is understood Simunovic is seen as a replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who appears set to leave Parkhead for Southampton.

Zagreb have been drawn with Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Olympiakos in the group stage of the Champions League, which may be enough to entice Simunovic to remain in Croatia.
