Celtic keeper Forster lands January award

Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster is the SPFL Player of the Month for January.

The 25-year old goalkeeper was in fine form in the first month of 2014, keeping five clean sheets, as the Hoops won all five matches to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish league table.

Forster's performances have helped Celtic produce 12 clean sheets on the trot - a club record - and has put the former Newcastle United man a great shot at making England's World Cup squad.

"I'm always very ambitious and don't tend to look back at all," said Forster. "It's all about what you can go on and achieve and improve on.

"I still speak to Dave Watson, the goalkeeper coach every so often. Everyone who is English wants to be on that plane to Brazil.

"To go and have that opportunity to be part of the World Cup in Brazil is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
