Celtic boss Gordon Strachan is stepping up his bid for Manchester City striker Ched Evans.

The Scottish Sun says Strachan is now training his sights on firming up a loan move for City's Welsh wonderkid Evans, 20.

He is determined to strengthen his squad for the title run-in and will make another enquiry about Evans - who has six caps - this week.

It's understood City have told Celtic they won't sell now, but will consider loaning him out for five months.

Evans scored ten goals in 20 starts on loan at Norwich last season.
