Celtic are in contract talks with on-loan Manchester City striker John Guidetti.
The Swede, off contract from City in June, is on a season-long loan with the Hoops, which are anxious about turning the deal into a permanent transfer.
Celtic are prepared to compete with the likes of Olympique Marseille over personal terms and willing to break the wage cap to keep Guidetti.
"You have to wonder if it is safe to pay someone two to three times more than the other players in your squad," said Celtic boss Ronny Deila.
"But it's up to John. We want him."
