Celtic boss Lennon not fearing likes of Man Utd, Bayern in Round of 16

Celtic manager Neil Lennon is not going into the Champions League Round of 16 with a great amount of trepidation.

The Hoops gained qualification to the knockout phase of Europe's premier club competition courtesy of a 2-1 home win over Spartak Moscow on Wednesday night with plenty of critics suggesting that their run will end here.

The Scottish champions could come up against Manchester United, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Schalke, Malaga and Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 draw but Lennon is entering with plenty of confidence after an impressive group stage showing which included a victory over Barcelona.

"There are a lot of teams in there and why would anyone want us? We got ten points," he said.

"Other teams maybe scraped through to the last 16 with seven or eight.

"So we are a dangerous team and anything can happen over the two games. We've improved our away form this season and I am delighted we have remained unbeaten at home as well.

"That keeps the record ticking over and we know that in the knockout stages anything can happen over two games."
