Brendan Rodgers is confident Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney will become a top quality footballer.

The 19-year-old left-back is already on the radar of Premier League clubs with Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Southampton all believed to be showing significant interest.

Rodgers only took over at Celtic recently and after his first pre-season training session, is now well aware of the sublime talent Tierney possesses.

"He will be a top player," said Rodgers.

"For sure. Absolutely 100 per cent he will be. Having worked with young players and lots of them, and seen them grow and develop, there's no question about that.

"I had only seen him on the telly in highlights and clips. But then you see him close up, he's a super athlete; strong, quick, balanced, aggressive, wonderful left foot, will get better, still has bits to improve, defends, hard to beat, wants to go forward, good size, and personality."
